Phew!!!

What a week!!

Am I glad it’s over? Heck yeah!

How’s this for random. Wednesday was the anniversary of Rusty’s death. 3 years it’s been since the accident. So, of course, it was a bit of a teary day. The next day, a mutual friend phones me, and we talk, as we do basically once a year on the anniversary. And she mentions the church she belongs to – one of those community things, just a few people doing what they do. Difference here, my cousin is the head of this church. And my friend invites me to her house where they had a service for Ascension day. “You just have to come, all your family is going to be there”

So, I went. And yes, all the family was there. Had the service, had some coffee and then I drove home. It was nice seeing all of them – it’s been years since I had any dealings with them.

But how is this for random? A friend that I met through a friend of the ex knows my family members on a completely different level.

Then again, we all have lives not so?

Of course, at work, they’re trying to get their pound of flesh out of me before I have to go. So I’m sort of saddled with things the one chick does not really want to do, but hey – it keeps the day from dragging, so I’m doing it.

Then of course there’s the chick at work that has not discovered the wonders of modern technology. In the form of a tissue. Me, I have a snotty nose, I blow my nose. She however thinks that sucking back on all that delicious goodness is something we all want to hear. Alas, not quite. It’s relatively disgusting to hear the sounds she’s making. Maybe she sniffed sugar 😉

Well, tonight is dancing again. And on Sunday, Mother’s Day. Don’t know if the kids will be with me on the day, or of they will be with daddy because it’s daddy’s wife’s b day every year around Mother’s Day. I told daddy to have his party on Saturday since it’s not cool for my kids to be with another woman on Mother’s day. Neither here nor there, but she’s got her own kids!

Mom and sis are at each other’s throats. And guess who’s in the middle? Yip, that would be me. So, mom will be here most of the weekend, and I elected to cook a proper lunch for us on Sunday. I’ve had a yearning for chicken with cloves the way my grand mom always used to make it. With sticky sweet pumpkin and rice and fried potatoes. Sounds like a deal to me – it’s been a while since we’ve had a properly cooked meal. And Mother’s day is a good a day as any I suppose.

And now it’s Friday night again. Laundry tomorrow. The filter also still needs to be built. But the fish are all still alive and the pond is not losing a drop of water – at least one thing that’s going just splendidly 🙂

Hope you enjoy your evening.

Let me leave you with this joke : Two cannibals were having supper. One says to the other one, “I don’t like my Mother in Law.” The other one looks up and answers, “Then just eat your french fries” 😉

  1. Never leave home without humour, eh. Have a good one with all the Mothers in your life, G. Hope the kids will be old enough to choose and stay with you. Hugs and kisses.

  2. Nice tune and how I miss the swing.
Have a happy Mothers’ Day no matter how it goes. The lunch sounds yummy.
This year I won’t be celebrating on the day, but a week later, so I’ll be camped out in front of the TV for a change. Hope to catch some good movies.

    • I did a swing tonight – man, I felt my poor thighs!! But I love it 😉
And a day spent in front of the TV is not always a bad thing!!
      Hope it’s a good day regardless 😉

  3. Hi Ghia! I’ve missed you, gona try and catch up on what’s been happening with you 🙂 Have a good weekend!

  4. You’re a special lady

  5. Ghia, happy Mother’s Day – and to all your readers who are mothers. Amazing women! I count three great things – your dancing, the pond, and you in control of the meal on Sunday! 😉

    • Not so great – I have to now entertain the WHOLE family on Sunday!!!
But I’m going on a date tonight 😉
      Hope it’s a good one!!

  6. Amazing the way these chains of coincidence work – and a lot of the time we don’t even notice them. I wonder if a gift of a pack of tissues would even register with Sniffy?
