And subsequently, not unpack the dishwasher, or pack away the other clean dishes, or take the blanket off the birdcage. Or pack my clothes in the cupboard, but just chuck it over the floor – much easier making a selection off the floor than out of the cupboard!!

This would be the kid. I have realised that to be in the streets costs more money than staying at home…And I either leave my clothes in the basket, or pack it in the cupboard!

Got his car back from the “panel beater” yesterday. I put that in inverted comma’s because it’s one of those backyard dudes that the father has a connection with. Now we have to be happy with whatever the dude did, because it was somewhat of a favour…

So, this morning, he cleaned it up – much better than he did mine, and off he went, into the blue yonder.

Have not seen him since.

Will I pack his clothes in the cupboard? Nope, I will indeed not. And, if this is the way he treats the clothes I wash and fold and hand to him, I will not be doing any washing and folding either – not of his clothes in any case!!

How on earth am I going to get this kid to realise that responsibilities are there for a reason – and not just because I’m being a bitch in insisting that he at least does something around the house! Surely things like packing your clothes in your cupboard, or at least not throwing it on the floor after it’s been cleaned should be normal? Or is it a dude thing? Or because he does not clean and fold it himself – means he does not care about it? Of course it’s a huge joke to him, but really. Can’t see why I have to give him clean and folded clothes if this is what he does with it.

He reckons that if he gets the garden service off the ground, he will do the garden work himself. And when I told him to work in my garden first – to see if he can do it – I was talked to death. Yeah my child. No use having a bunch of schemes and promises with no way to put your money where your mouth is!

Maybe he’ll find something to do in the not too distant future. Maybe I will too.

Until then…I’ll just be at home.
