Well…

Guess what I did yesterday.

Just take a wild guess… No?

Yesterday, I did absolutely NOTHING!!! I did not even really get out of bed. Yes. Slothful I know. And it was absolutely glorious!

Went to Mr P’s on Thursday evening. Got there, had something to eat, watched a movie. Woke up eventually on Friday morning with my back and hip and neck an paroxysms – not of joy, that bed is still a bloody brick! – and then proceeded to just sit in that same brick like bed the whole day while being served hand and foot. Coffee, tea, food, movies… Only time I had to do anything was when I went to the loo πŸ˜‰

But it was a good day. Of course, none of the movies we watched was light relief. He seems to like all the heavy shit. So we worked through Fracture, and A History of violence, and Soldier. Snatch was some fun, always good for a laugh πŸ˜‰ Slept again, and then I came home in the early hours of a very cold morning.

Of course it rained a bit everywhere it seems – very early for the spring rain, but very welcome nevertheless.

And now, back to reality.

I got a phone call on Friday from the contract agency I work through at the moment. About the interview I went to on Tuesday. Apparently the woman that interviewed me wants me to come back there and see the husband. The owner of the business. The man. With the money. So, that’s what I will be doing on Monday morning. I will be going for a second interview. Still have to figure out an outfit, but I’m hoping that my road will take me a bit further – and not into the abyss as I’ve so often thought.

One good thing though. Paid the bond out of my credit card last month. Or so I thought. Turns out the transfer did not go through. But the arrears was only R400. and not the full amount. So I have some more breathing space for this month – and that, people, is how G-d looks after me. Little things, basically unnoticed, but they make the world of difference when you see the bigger picture.

And now, it’s cold. Very cold. Cold enough to warrant a deep hot bath with bubbles. I’m thinking that’s just what I need to drive the chill from these old bones!!

Hope your Saturday is a good one!

  1. A second interview sounds promising. Just wear something you feel comfortable in, but not your slippers of course. πŸ˜€ Hoping things turn around for you. You and Mr P seem to be quite the item. πŸ™‚ xx

    • When I told my mom she said that what ever I do, just not naked πŸ˜‰
An item, I sometimes wonder. But it’s never bad to spend time with him, it’s just calm and comfortable. And tomorrow it will be three months – quite the record for me lately πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the good wishes AD – hope the trip is still going well and that C is over his thing!

  2. That’s good. A second interview. I’m sending prayerful positives your way, as usual πŸ™‚
Sounds good, staying in bed all day. Mr P’s definitely notching up good points. You’re going to have to educate him about movies, though. My daughter has the same problem with her partner. He only likes really macho stuff. Her solution is to have set up his X-box in the same room as the telly, so when she wants to watch something mushy and romantic, he can play his killing games without the two of them going off to different ends of the house. They did both watch “Banshee” together, which is the bloodiest thing she’s ever stomached before, but it helped that she fancied the lead man.

    • Thanks for the positives Sarah πŸ™‚
As for Mr P’s taste in movies, if onloy he would watch the macho stuff!! but no. He does drama. And I really don’t like to see the sickness of people all the time. I don’t do the mushy stuff myself, give me a good Jason Statham romp filled with blood and swearwords and I’m happy πŸ˜‰ Even happier if he takes his shirt off!!

    • Thanks P πŸ™‚
I’m hoping for good results on this one myself, but I will follow the road G-d has laid out for me, regardless of where it leads me.

    • I don’t do it all that often – usually at home there’s always something to be done, but at his spot, not so much πŸ˜‰
of course that will all change when his 19 year old rugrat returns to P Town.
Thanks for the luck chickpea πŸ™‚

  3. Isn’t nice to spend the day doing nothing, enjoy and snuggle up warmly. Good luck with your interview girl.

    • Thanks for the luck with the interview K πŸ˜‰
As for the day of doing nothingness, it was quite enjoyable πŸ˜‰ Can’t remember when last I had such a slothful day!!

  4. Loved the fact you got to relax and rest and do nothing! Splendid and overdue. You will have a lot of prayers for Monday’s second interview. Hope you’ve enjoyed your Sunday, J!
