What can I say.

I took the back road again today. And was overtaken by a mad old cow in a bakkie, driving hell for leather down the road – and this was just after 7 am. Probably has a sick horse somewhere – she looked the type 😉

Saw a gorgeously healthy looking Brahman bull – my grandfather had one many moons ago on the farm. We had a healthy dose of respect for that piece of flesh!

All this between P town and Sandton – African driving – just never a dull moment!

Remember a while ago I went to the dentist to have my one crown stuck back in. It loosens every 2 years or so, then I go to the dentist and have it glued or cemented back in. Costs me money every time – not as if doctors even have any come backs now is it!! It was a week after the latest stick back in episode. I paid the doctor. The tooth was loose again. When I went there last week, I told the doctor that the tooth was loose. Got a whole story about how those teeth are just hanging there and staying there by the grace of G-d. The fact that I paid her good money to fix something that was broken again a week later does not apparently occur to them. Last week’s episode got the front teeth un-love gapped, but I can feel the repair the whole time. The other teeth that she just fiddled with, have now broken more. Which means when I go to my usual dentist now on Saturday, I have to pay him to fix what was not supposed to be broken in the first place, and to fix up her stuff ups.

Of course, we all know, money is just absolutely no problem for me!!

But hey. Don’t suppose I’ll change the medical profession all by my lonesome self. Sure we need them. I think they need us even more, since without us, where will they get the money to pay for their huge houses and huge cars and huge rings and larney clothes!! Bloody people!!

Going to my sisters’ kids’ concert tonight. Have to be there at 18:15. A bunch of big people singing with the little ones – usually not too bad an evening.

Now I must just make sure that I don’t talk too much, or even eat in company, because the tooth insists on falling out at the most inopportune times!!

Damn I hate my life sometimes!!!

Just when I think I can maybe breathe, the wind gets knocked right out of my sails again. And again.

Maybe one day I’ll have a few stress free days. Maybe weeks if I’m really lucky!!

Anyhow – do hope your day is going spectacularly well so far 😉

The Ant Hill

Once there was a golfer whose drive landed on an anthill. Rather than move the ball, he decided to hit it where it lay. He gave a mighty swing. Clouds of dirt and sand and ants exploded from the spot. Everything but the golfball. It sat in the same spot.

So he lined up and tried another shot. Clouds of dirt and sand and ants went flying again. The golf ball didn’t even wiggle.

Two ants survived. One dazed ant said to the other, “Whoa! What are we going to do?”

Said the other ant: “I don’t know about you, but I’m going to get on the ball.”

  1. Love the joke. 🙂 Kids’ concerts are really heartwarming occasions, aren’t they? Enjoy. Sorry about your tooth problems. Maybe you need to change your dentist. 🙂

    • Kids’ concerts are – but this was not one of them.
I don’t think the teachers these days could be bothered to teach a bunch of rugrats how to twirl and sing at the same time.
But it was a lovely concert nonetheless 😉
As for the dentist – have done just that – from bad to worse!!
They’re all the same – just like the supposed “men” I meet!!!

    • You got that right Tess!!!!
If only I could find an actual medical person that gives as much of a crap to MY pocket as they do to their own – well then, life would be grand!!!

    • You’re young yet – get to my age with my bad habits, then we’ll talk again 😉
Then again, maybe you’re one of the lucky people that never has any hassles with their teeth…

    • I would not so much mind paying if I was sure that their work would last.
Oh well, medical personnel does not seem to care about much more besides money…

  2. Touch wood: I have a crown; it’s been there since 1995. Never had any trouble (oh, I may pay for this)…! 😉 hahah… The dentist told me it should last 10 years…! (Got to have some luck, sometimes…!)
