Tuesday's tickle…

Good morning peeps!!

Yes, I realise I’ve been remiss lately.

Well, only for one day – but you have no idea how things can snowball if you’re not on top of them all the time!

As it is, I’m sitting with more than a 100 e mails in the one account, a few more in the other one, have a whole bunch of new jobsites to check out, paperwork to be signed and handed in…

All things considered, yesterday was not a bad day.

Picked up all the kids from their various spots, got to visit with the other folk I used to work with – all of them seemed happy to see me – which always makes a welcome change!!

The Porra and myself spent a surprisingly pleasant evening on Monday – quite relaxed and comfortable, and we’re still in contact – which also makes a welcome change!

Usually the dudes disappear within minutes of meeting me, so one that’s stuck around for 4 dates and is still talking to me – well, it’s unheard of really ๐Ÿ˜‰

I like him – he’s a sweet man. Reminded me to fill up last night before the petrol went up again – can’t remember when was the last time a dude did that for me!

Spent a pleasant evening last night with my son’s new partner – we watched Music Man ๐Ÿ˜‰

An old Robert Preston movie – very cute, and he seemed to enjoy it – likes the old stuff just as much as I do.

Now we’ll see how the relationship progresses!

Between him and my son that is – we seem to be fine so far!

Took the old man for a walk last night – just walked down to the shops and back.

Shame – he enjoys it as much as he always did, still walks nicely with me, but I can see that he’s not quite as up to it as he used to be. His poor hips are hurting him, he’s completely deaf, and I think he’s going blind as well.

I don’t even want to think about him not being here any more, but I suppose the time will come where I will have to make a decision of some kind. And I’m the only one that can. I should be the last thing he sees when he closes his eyes for the last time – it’s the least I can do for him.

Enough morbidity for one day.

Let me give you the joke, and leave you with this quote…

The future has many names: For the weak, it means the unattainable. For the fearful, it means the unknown. For the courageous, it means opportunity. ~ Victor Hugo

Texas Poll

The latest poll taken by the office of the Governor of Texas asked whether people who live in Texas think illegal immigration is a serious problem:

30% of respondents answered: “Yes, it is a serious problem.”

70% of respondents answered: “No es una problema serio. “

  1. Love that quote. Glad your relationship is progressing well. He sounds really nice. Whilst your dog can still walk to the shops, you don’t have to worry too much. The day I don’t enjoy shopping, will signal the end of me. ๐Ÿ˜‰ xxx

  2. Only thing is, AD, he’s a male dog – I doubt that shopping has ever been fun for him ;-)He sat quietly with me outside, waiting, no running around and hassling with everything. As for the Porra – he does seem like a sweet man – time will tell.I can always hope!

  3. Yes well, nothing yet – hope there will be one.I mean, he has seen my house and apparently people are frightened of it!And me ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Love the 70% response!Glad you had a pleasant time, and I’m sure the walk was enjoyed. For a minute there, I thought you were referring to an elderly relative. The idea would still be a good one, but it is just a wee bit illegal!btw – pics which should have been on my Cowrie post are now there, so you can see what I’m on about!

  5. I really hope that by the time I get old enough to not be worth keeping alive anymore, they’ve changed the laws about assisted suicide – really!Just a spot of extra morphine is all I need…
