Good morning peeps!!
Yes, I realise I’ve been remiss lately.
Well, only for one day – but you have no idea how things can snowball if you’re not on top of them all the time!
As it is, I’m sitting with more than a 100 e mails in the one account, a few more in the other one, have a whole bunch of new jobsites to check out, paperwork to be signed and handed in…
All things considered, yesterday was not a bad day.
Picked up all the kids from their various spots, got to visit with the other folk I used to work with – all of them seemed happy to see me – which always makes a welcome change!!
The Porra and myself spent a surprisingly pleasant evening on Monday – quite relaxed and comfortable, and we’re still in contact – which also makes a welcome change!
Usually the dudes disappear within minutes of meeting me, so one that’s stuck around for 4 dates and is still talking to me – well, it’s unheard of really 😉
I like him – he’s a sweet man. Reminded me to fill up last night before the petrol went up again – can’t remember when was the last time a dude did that for me!
Spent a pleasant evening last night with my son’s new partner – we watched Music Man 😉
An old Robert Preston movie – very cute, and he seemed to enjoy it – likes the old stuff just as much as I do.
Now we’ll see how the relationship progresses!
Between him and my son that is – we seem to be fine so far!
Took the old man for a walk last night – just walked down to the shops and back.
Shame – he enjoys it as much as he always did, still walks nicely with me, but I can see that he’s not quite as up to it as he used to be. His poor hips are hurting him, he’s completely deaf, and I think he’s going blind as well.
I don’t even want to think about him not being here any more, but I suppose the time will come where I will have to make a decision of some kind. And I’m the only one that can. I should be the last thing he sees when he closes his eyes for the last time – it’s the least I can do for him.
Enough morbidity for one day.
Let me give you the joke, and leave you with this quote…
The future has many names: For the weak, it means the unattainable. For the fearful, it means the unknown. For the courageous, it means opportunity. ~ Victor Hugo
The latest poll taken by the office of the Governor of Texas asked whether people who live in Texas think illegal immigration is a serious problem:
30% of respondents answered: “Yes, it is a serious problem.”
70% of respondents answered: “No es una problema serio. “
