Quote me.

The Daily post.

Do you have a favorite quote that you return to again and again? What is it, and why does it move you?

Do I ever have a favourite quote. In actual fact, I have a few.

Are they profound?

No.

Are they a bit on the morose side?

For sure!

Why do they move me?

Probably because, when I heard them for the first time, they pinpointed my life’s situation with unerring accuracy. And in the ensuing years, they’ve proven to be right more often than wrong.

Here they are then…

Gravity is a myth. The Earth sucks.

Life. A series of unfortunate events.  This one is actually a bit of an invention from my side – don’t suppose the title of a a book and a movie can really be a quote…

The light at the end of the tunnel is usually that of an oncoming train.

Then, because I do like a joke every so often, this one.

A Good man is hard to find (don’t I just know it!) but a hard man is good to find. ;-)

And then, something a bit more profound, but still not in the realms of the Dalai Lama or Kahlil Gibran, but it works for me :

Those that mind, don’t matter. And those that matter, won’t mind.

This last one has proven to be true as well. Since I am not the world’s easiest person to get to know, you have to really want to do that. And, if you think I’m worth it, you would not mind. If not, you would. In which case, I can probably do better without you than I ever could with you.

There then my favourite quotes and why they move me!

    • A lovely quote that AD ;-)
I suppose my quotes are somewhat negative – think they are the kind that sticks to the grey matter, because i get a quote every day, all uplifting, positive ones, but i can never remember them ;-)
